It is widespread around Venezuela and Bermuda, making it the most common butterflyfish in the Caribbean.
Juvenile fish live alone, adult animals live as a couple.
You rarely see them as a group or swim in the swarm.
They prefer to eat crust anemones, polychaetes but also gorgonians.
