description Chaenopsis alepidota comes endemic in the eastern Pacific from southern California, the Northern Baja California, in the western and northeastern Gulf of California to Mexico. Pike mallow fish lives in sandy areas in empty tubes of tubular worms and occurs in a depth range up to about 11 meters.
